TWin VIEW TWO

“Twin view two” is a collection of works which aims to bring to the audience a unique opportunity to see, through art, how twins differ in their perspectives, responses to subject matter, use of materials and methods.  Living on the Mid North Coast provides Jacs and Elisabeth inspiration to create themes based on all aspects of rural life. They work in a variety of media: watercolour, pastel, acrylic paint, ink and charcoal. Jacs and Elisabeth come together once a fortnight to inspire, make and critique each other’s art-making. This unique way of working has helped hone their skills and understanding of the making process.

Jacs’ practice includes: pastel, charcoal, watercolour, ink and mixed-media. She likes to be unconventional when applying materials by exaggerating the natural colours of nature. Over the past year she has developed her drawing skills in charcoal to emphasis emotion through light and shade. Jacs won the 2023 Adelaide Swift Award for Drawing for “Touch”, her emotional representation of a dog and its owner’s hand.

Elisabeth’s practice includes: collaged images, painting digital photography and drawing.  Over the past year Elisabeth worked to develop her understanding of the textures which can be created using acrylic paint and various compound mediums. She continues to work with the accidental surprises that can be achieved when applying paint with anything but a brush to create semi-abstract and abstract representations of her local natural environment.
